VirtualNewsCenter does the same things a local news person or staff does -- monitoring sources, making phone calls, and all the other tasks that make a local news person or news department successful. We save you money by sharing the resources among several stations. By doing so, you gain a much deeper bench in times of need, and you don't have to pay someone for idle time.

A little more detail

Each VirtualNewsCenter anchor/reporter has years of experience in radio news. That allows each person to boil down complex stories to their essence, collect the facts and audio needed to fill out the story, and write your newscasts efficiently. Our custom-written news handling software enables an anchor to work on multiple markets in turn, giving the focus needed to make each newscast excellent. A number of other (proprietary) systems are in place to make the process as simple as possible for everyone involved -- from contacting us on breaking news to having your regular newscast download on time, the right length and with the right content.

To your community, we ARE you.

When your news anchor/reporter makes a call into your market, not only do they identify themselves as working for your station, they are calling on a LOCAL number. If they have to leave a message with a newsmaker, the callback is LOCAL. Callbacks are professionally directed to the correct person, or to your main phone if you choose it as a fall-through. We've just brought the techology to do this online, and it is working well everywhere it's deployed. So you have the image of a large news staff, without the expense.
